Assistance required for a Lacanian Transference UK ³map²

The London Society of the New Lacanian School

Dear Colleagues,

Please see below an urgent message by our colleague Victoria Woollard who used to be active in the London Society and now lives in Paris and is very active there. She is asking for assistance to compile a list of people who would be interested in attending a seminar in English, held in Paris under the auspices of the Department of Psychoanalysis of Paris 8 University. This seminar will attempt to engage people from all over the world who are more at ease in English than in French and who are interested in Lacanian Psychoanalysis in a non partisan way. The seminar’s purpose is to introduce a larger audience to the clinical application of Lacanian theory and in particular to make the results of the last 25 years of practice and findings more accessible. Please reply to this message or directly to Victoria, her email is below, if you can help with such a list. It would be used to gauge the potential interest and to reach a wide network of people.

Dear UK Colleagues,

An English language seminar will be taking place in July 2008 in Paris. It will be open to English speakers interested in Lacan but not necessarily linked to the World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP). It is being organised under the auspices of the Department of Psychoanalysis (University Paris 8). Marie-Hélène Brousse, who teaches at the department, has asked me to help co-ordinate it being an English speaker resident in Paris.

For the UK I’m asking for your assistance. I need a list of people interested in Lacan, with contact details if possible, what they do (academic, clinician, etc.), what they have written (books, articles, etc.), what institutional connections or affiliations they might have (Universities, IPA, The Forums, etc.). I need to have the list completed before Christmas, so time is pressing! Please help me out with the UK ‘map’.

Best wishes,

Vicky Woollard
