Notre référence commune
Pour préparer ce Xe Congrès, nous prenons appui sur le texte de Jacques-Alain Miller, “Lire un symptôme », qui est la présentation, lors de notre Congrès à Londres, du thème qui nous réunit cette année à Tel Aviv.
J.-A. Miller y propose un cadre et des points de d’orientation précis dans la lecture de l’enseignement de Lacan. Nous invitons chacun à s’y reporter, ainsi qu’aux textes de préparation diffusés tout au long de l’année par NLS-Messager, « Vers Tel Aviv » (on les trouve sur le site de la NLS : http://www.amp-nls.org/fr/
Priorité aux cas cliniques
Nous allons explorer les pistes que J.-A. Miller nous offre à partir de cas cliniques. Comme l’an dernier, nous demandons avec insistance à chacun d’être attentif à la construction du cas. ‘Construire ‘ implique une réduction et une sélection du ‘matériel’. Ni métalangage théorique ni simple narration, l’exposé sera, d’une manière ou d’une autre, le résultat d’une question que le praticien se sera posée et en portera la marque.
Programme et axes de travail
Nous finaliserons bien sûr le programme quand les propositions d’interventions seront à notre disposition. Nous nous orientons vers le choix d’une série de pannels en plénières le samedi, où l’on débattra de points vifs à partir de plusieurs interventions, dont celles de quelques AE ; la matinée du dimanche sera partagée entre une plage de salles simultanées et une séance plénière avec une conférence de clôture.
A titre indicatif, et sans fixer aujourd’hui les séquences, nous vous proposons quelques axes de travail, dont il serait bon de tenir compte dans la rédaction des textes :
- « lire un symptôme c’est le sevrer de sens »
- L’interprétation problématisée : l’interprétation (versant du sens)/ la lecture (versant de la lettre) ; le déchiffrable et l’indéchiffrable
- formations de l’inconscient/événement de corps
- Le symptôme au début de l’analyse : la « mise en forme du symptôme » analytique, la « clinique sous transfert », les demandes thérapeutiques, le rapport au discours de la science
- Le symptôme comme vérité/ le symptôme comme mode de jouissance ; symptôme et fantasme, symptôme et pulsion ; symptôme et sinthome
- Des symptômes au sinthome ; les restes symptomatiques, destins du symptôme à la fin de l’analyse (pannel AE)
- Clinique différentielle du symptôme ; son statut : symptôme et nom-du-père, sur fond de généralisation de la forclusion ou « tout le monde est fou » ; traitement et inventions du sujet ; dans la névrose et la psychose
- Le symptôme et le corps : phénomènes ou événement de corps ; quel corps ?; hystérie et psychosomatique ; l’incorporation du symptôme dans le moi chez l’obsessionnel, etc.
- Lire un symptôme aujourd’hui : la psychanalyse et « la « société du symptôme » (E. Laurent) ; les débats cliniques d’aujourd’hui (par exemple autour de l’autisme), la loi et le symptôme, etc.
Comité de lecteurs
Un comité composé de lecteurs attentifs venant des quatre coins de la NLS et de l’ECF participera à la sélection des textes. Il examinera chaque texte envoyé et entrera en contact avec l’auteur pour lui permettre d’affiner si nécessaire la rédaction du texte. Il est donc important que chaque auteur soumette son texte en français ou en anglais et qu’il respecte le délai pour permettre ce travail préalable.

Our common reference
To prepare this 10th Congress, we rely on the text « Reading a Symptom » by Jacques-Alain Miller, which is the presentation given at the Congress in London of the theme that will reunite us this year in Tel Aviv.
J.-A. Miller proposes there a frame and precise points of orientation for the reading of Lacan’s teaching. We invite everyone to refer to it, as well as other preparatory texts circulated throughout the year by NLS-Messager ‘Towards Tel Aviv’ (which you find on the NLS website and this address : http://www.amp-nls.org/en/
Clinical Cases have Priority
We will explore the trails that J.-A. Miller gives us for clinical cases. As last year, we insist thateveryone is attentive to the construction of the case. ‘To construct’ involves a reduction and a selection of ‘material’. Neither theoretical metalanguage nor simple narration, the writing should be in one way or another the result of a question that the practitioner posed himself and that it bears the mark of.
Programme and axes of work
We will finalise the programme when the propositions for papers are available, of course. We will start focusing on choosing a series of plenary panels on the Saturday where we will debate the salient points of the papers given, amongst them those of anumber of AEs; the morning of the Sunday will be divided between the simultaneous rooms and a plenary session with a closing speech.
For an indication and without wanting to fix the sequences yet, we propose some axes for work that it would be good to keep account of in the writing of texts:
- ‘Reading a symptom is to sever it from meaning’
- Interpretation problematised: interpretation (on the side of meaning) / reading (on the side of the letter); the decipherable and the indecipherable
- Unconscious formations / body event
- The symptom at the beginning of analysis: the ‘putting into shape of the analytic symptom’, ‘clinic under transference’, therapeutic demands, the relationship to the scientific discourse
- The symptom as truth / the symptom as mode of jouissance; symptom and fantasy, symptom and drive; symptom and sinthome
- From symptoms to the sinthome; symptomatic remainders, destiny of the symptom at the end of analysis (Panel of the AEs)
- Differential clinic of the symptom; its status: symptom and Name-of-the-Father, on the basis of a generalisation of foreclosure, or ‘everyone is mad’; treatment and inventions of the subject; in neurosis and psychosis
- The symptom and the body: body phenomena or body event; what body?; hysteria and psychosomatic; incorporation of the symptom into the ego in the obsessional
- Reading a symptom today: psychoanalysis and ‘the society of the symptom’ (E. Laurent); clinical debates of today (on autism for example), the law and the symptom,etc.
Committee of Readers
A committee of attentive readers from 4 corners of the NLS and the ECF will participate in the selection of texts. It will examine each text that was sent and will enter into contact with its author to allow him to refine, if necessary, the writing of the text. It is thus important that each author submits his text in either French or English and that he respects the deadline to make this preliminary work possible.
