Communiqué of the President – No. 4/2012: ICLO-NLS is an Affiliated Group now

ICLO (Irish Circle of the Lacanian Orientation) becomes an Affiliated Group of the NLS.

It was founded in June 2009 as an associated group of the NLS. Today it has become a significant pole of Lacanian Psychoanalysis in the English language. This is particularly shown by a programme of activities and teaching that is solid and diverse and more and more attended; by being rooted in society and the Irish psychoanalytic scene; and by the intensification of the link with the NLS and the WAP. The Irish Circle has 14 members to date, of which 3 are NLS members. Alan Rowan, Florencia F. C. Shanahan and Rik Loose, who formed the first Bureau, have by their personal engagement, their work and their tact, given ICLO both the seriousness and the vitality that characterise it. The NLS would like to thank them forthis and expresses the wish that ICLO and all its members will persevere onthis path.

Communiqué de la Présidente – n° 4/2012: ICLO-NLS aujourd’hui Groupe Affilié

ICLO (Cercle Irlandais d’orientation lacanienne) devient un Groupe Affilié de la NLS.

Il a été fondé en juin 2009 en tant que groupe associé de la NLS. Aujourd’hui il est devenu un pôle significatif de la psychanalyse lacanienne en langue anglaise. En témoignent notamment un programme d’activités et d’enseignement, solide et diversifié, de plus en plus fréquenté ; une implantation dans la société et le paysage psychanalytique irlandais ; et l’intensification des liens avec la NLS et l’AMP. Le Cercle irlandais compte à ce jour 14 membres, dont 3 sont membres de la NLS.

Alan Rowan, Florencia F.C. Shanahan et Rik Loose, qui en ont formé le premier Bureau, ont su, par leur engagement personnel, leur travail et leur tact, donner à ICLO à la fois le sérieux et la vitalité qui le caractérisent. La NLS les en remercie et souhaite à ICLO et à tous ses membres de poursuivre dans cette voie.
